Introduction to Gravi™-Cell device |
| |
 |
GRAVI™- Cell is a USB powered, microfluidics-based immunoassay device for running bead-protocols with standard immunology reagents. The instrument works with GRAVI™- Chip, i.e. the microchannel-harboring biosensors, for performing all: from sample preparation through signal detection in, and readout of 8 parallel channels. The desktop-sized GRAVI™- Cell is designed for manual operation, to generate results wherever needed and most convenient. Given micro-chip channel regeneration convenience, immunoassays are processed by series, with tests performed in record times, and with the flexibility for running most any available ELISA or affinity assay.
As small as a microplate, this device will fit on the deck of a pipetting station and integrate with the pipetting control system using Overlord2. |

Benefits |
| |
-
Robust & convenient: With fluidics solely driven by natural forces, there are no serviceable pumps, tubes nor valves. Given desktop dimensions and USB powering, the instrument is placed wherever truly needed
-
Flexible: New or commercially available tests are easily adapted; various assays can be run in parallel and in different matrixes (e.g. urine, serum, plasma, amniotic fluid, etc)

Automation - automate.it Gravi™-Cell |
| |
 |
The Gravi™-Cell device can be integrated into the automate.it TPS24 pipetting workstation to provide a fast and easy way to rapid data acquisition. The automate.it Gravi™-Cell is an automated microfluidics-based platform, designed for running bead-protocol ELISA tests with standard immunology reagents. The microchannel biosensors, in which all, from sample preparation through signal detection in 16 parallel channels, is performed. Programming of sequential assay and regeneration loops allows running up to 4 x 96 tests, fully unattended. Various assays can be embarked and run in less than 10 minutes, i.e. at speeds offering a quasi real-time monitoring solution in serial testing, and with the flexibility for performing most any available ELISA or affinity assay. |

Automation benefits |
| |
-
Ultra-fast: Rather than hours, the total assay duration is 5-10 minutes (including chip regeneration time)
-
Efficient: Reagent and bead consumption is reduced to a minimum, and sample requirement is a mere 10 µl
-
Open: The system runs with conventional reagents, as provided in commercially available kits
-
Flexible: Various assays can be run simultaneously and in different (e.g. urine, plasma, CSF) matrixes
-
Walk-away convenience: All-in-one, the system autonomously handles everything: from sample preparation, dilution, incubation, washing, enzymatic reaction, to quantitative signal detection and readout of results
