What is a SCARA robot?

The automate.it scara robot was designed several years ago for a US based pharmaceutical company. The linked arm allows a very small footprint and the equipment can be placed close to the robot to keep the overall workcell size small. The robot can be supplied in entry level, 2 motion axes and the more flexible 4 motion axes. The latter is available in three Z heights.

This robot has a tilt system built into the base AND the gripper. If the robot hits anything, the force causes the robot the robot to become detached from the magnetic base and the emergency stop is automatically activated.

Recommended when low cost automation requirement for automation of a single instrument.		Recommended when multiple instruments are to be automated, when an instrument with difficult plate access is to be automated or when a small footprint is required because of limited bench space. This model is available in a a choice of 3 sizes (250mm, 47mm and 660mm), a choice of grippers and a choice of microplate storage options, this is a great choice for any small automated workcell.
