The supplied systems have been built around Caliper (Zymark) Twister I and Twister II and Hamilton SWAP laboratory robots. These have been used to load the microplates with the treated beads via a barcode reader and a Kendro (H & P) shaker to the plate reader. The unique Overlord3 control method allows full control of this plate reader. These integrated Luminex plate readers have been integrated in a number of laboratories of major international pharmaceutical companies.
The basic automated Luminex system consists of:
- Luminex Plate Reader
- Robot - plate transport
- Plate stacks
- Shaker - to get the beads homogenised in the carrier fluid
- Barcode reader - to positively identify the plate

The basic automated system has been expanded with:
- multiple Luminex readers in a single work cell

- Tecan Gemini/EVO pipetting station for liquid handling before a plate read
- Bio-Rad Bio-Plex/ACS software control of the Luminex plate reader
