Process Analysis & Automation supplies a range of software products, hardware products and completely integrated laboratory automation systems. OVERLORD features support for the Luminex plate readers and their associated software packages that are supplied from the following manufacturers: Luminex, ACS and Bio-Rad.

Bead plate readers are key components in some analysis systems, offering the final data capture stage of a manual or automatic sample preparation scheme.

PAA offer a completely integrated system and automated Luminex system and can we can offer integration with the instrument control and data handling software packages offered by Luminex, Bio-Rad and ACS.

When the plate reader is a key part of the automated system, the selection of the correct plate reader for the system is very important. Also it is often a requirement to automate an existing Luminex plate reader, PAA can assist you in this type of project, please see upgrading existing equipment or download application note Upgrading Equipment (LA233).

The supplied systems have been built around Caliper (Zymark) Twister I and Twister II laboratory robots. These have been used to load the microplates with the treated beads via a barcode reader and a Kendro (H & P) shaker to the plate reader. The unique OVERLORD control method or SDK/Active X methods allow full control of this unusual plate reader. These integrated Luminex plate readers have been integrated in a number of laboratories of a major international pharmaceutical company.
